Kite buggying - boarding: Ynyslas Wind Direction: NW Wind Stength: 8-16 Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: Max Speed: Distance Covered:
Good session 10am-3pm on the landboard with 12m Slingshot. Most of the
morning was tame with the occasional gust, direction more or less forced
short runs diagonally across the beach and also not a particularly low tide
and lots of large clumps of seaweed to boot. Some fun to be had navigating
them though - and making jibes around them ! Wind picked up after lunch
with enough lift to hop over the seaweed clumps and making the washboard
sand areas more comfortable by taking weight off the board. Forced to give
up eventually due to being overpowered on the landboard. One guy arrived
to get out on the water but by the time he was rigged the wind sadly died
away again and I wished I'd left the kite rigged.... Anyhow a good day and
got lots of practice at non stop sliding turns. The weather station
appeared to show 8 knots increasing to 16 or just over, so 16-18 is about
the limit for me with the Slingshot 12 on land due to lack of traction and
too much lift. (And probably really great on the water when I eventually
get around to it)
